Elton John dealing with an infection that caused blindness in his right eye

Elton John is blind in his right eye.

He tells Good Morning America, “It’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see [due to an infection]. My left eye is not the greatest."

“There’s hope and encouragement that it will be okay, but I’m kind of stuck in the moment, because going into the studio and recording, I don’t know, because I can’t see a lyric for start. We're taking an initiative to try and get it better. But at the moment that's really what we're really concentrating on. It's never fortunate for anything like this to happen. And it kind of floored me, and I can’t see anything, I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything."

Elton has been making the rounds promoting his new documentary, Never Too Late, which premieres on Disney+ on December 13th. He was also plugging his new Broadway musical, Tammy Faye, but it tanked and will close on December 8th after only 29 performances.
