Latin Grammy-winning Tejano artist Bobby Pulido has officially announced his farewell tour and retirement after an illustrious 30-year career in music. Along with this major milestone, he also revealed his plans to run for public office in 2026. Pulido made the announcement during an emotional press conference held in his hometown of Edinburg, Texas, on Thursday, November 21.
Surrounded by his family, band members, and media, Pulido shared a heartfelt message: “Next year, I’ll be celebrating 30 years in the music business. And to be quite honest, I’m enjoying the most success I’ve ever had. But like the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Today, I’m announcing my farewell tour for next year. It’s not a decision that I have hastily made. I’ve given it a lot of thought. I feel like my life has come full circle.”
Pulido, a multiple Tejano Music Awards winner, went on to discuss his future after retiring from music: “In 2026, I’ll be running for public office in the attempt to fulfill my lifelong dream to serve my people. At this time, I cannot mention what I’ll be running for or any details. People are exhausted from a grueling political season. In due time, everyone will know what I stand for and what capacity I’d like to serve.”

During the emotional conference, Bobby took a moment to thank his family and band members, including his sons, for their unwavering support throughout his career. “To my four sons, Remy, Darian, Trey, and Rodrigo, I know that being raised by a musician isn’t easy. The job took me away a lot. But all in all, I think we’ve managed as best we can. I love you.”
When asked about the greatest accomplishment of his career, Bobby reflected on his journey in the music industry: “My greatest accomplishment in the music industry was getting out of my dad’s shadow. Because when I first started, I had people telling me that I was not going to make it. And that I wasn’t good enough. And, um, through the years, I was able to make a name for myself and separate myself. And not because I’m not proud of my dad. I’m extremely proud. But I wanted to make a name for myself and be known as Bobby Pulido, not as just Roberto Pulido’s son. So I think it’s that, to be honest with you.”
To celebrate his remarkable 30-year career, Bobby Pulido will embark on the Por La Puerta Grande Tour in 2025, named after the phrase associated with bullfighters meaning to leave in a grand and dignified manner. “The tour is going to be called Por La Puerta Grande. It’s a saying that comes from the bullfighters when they say, Se van por la puerta grande. And it’s leaving through the big door, leaving the right way. And that’s what I want to do. We want to leave through the big door and do it right. And it’s going to be something special. I’m excited about it. I got to change the chip now into giving it all I got in this last year. And whatever’s left, we’re going to do it.”
