Who couldn't use some good news going into the holiday season? The Thanksgiving dinner that you're hosting for all your family or friends is going to cost you a little less this year. According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, the average cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people this year will be $56.93. That's $4.24 less than it was last year. One big reason for the reduction is a 2% increase in turkey production this year, which helps to keep costs down. GOBankingRates has analyzed the data and determined the average cost of Thanksgiving dinner in each state and found that some states have much higher costs for Thanksgiving dinner than others. For instance, the average dinner for 10 in Hawaii will cost just over $80. Alaska, Maryland, Nebraska, California, and Virginia are all over $70. The states with the lowest cost for Thanksgiving dinner are Georgia ($58.20), Kansas ($58.21), Missouri ($59.11), Alabama ($59.13), and South Carolina ($60.36).
