"Southern Living" just named a few unspoken rules that Southerners follow on Thanksgiving. Southern or not, how many of these "rules" does your family follow?

1. Thanksgiving is not a time to stray from tradition. There's gonna be dressing, a green bean casserole, and a turkey. Extra points if it's fried.

2. No electronics at dinner. No TV, no phones, nothing.

3. Before dinner, everyone goes around the table and says one thing they are thankful for.

4. You better dress to impress. It's time to put on your "Sunday Best". Even though it's Thursday.

5. Come hungry and leave stuffed. You should eat till the point of discomfort. Just like your grandma would want.

6. Certain topics are off limits. I know it's hard to avoid politics nowadays. But, "a Southerner's #1 priority is keeping the peace." Also, no talk about dieting . . . Thanksgiving is a time for butter, and heavy cream. Please be advised.

It seems that the term "Southerner" can also be a state-of-mind . . . because a lot of these rules are at EVERY dinner table, regardless of where you're from.
