A tropical depression in the Caribbean has strengthened into Tropical Storm Sara, the National Hurricane Center said Thursday afternoon.
The system could move into the Gulf of Mexico, and possibly head toward Florida next week after passing over Central America and the Yucatán Peninsula this weekend.
The NHC says it's to soon to determine what impacts, if any, the storm could bring to Florida's Gulf Coast. Residents are being advised keep track of the forecast for any updates.
