Woman Told To 'Run' After Pulling Up Carpets & Uncovering Disturbing Symbol

When most people move into a new home, they make changes to it so it better suits their style. This could be something as simple as repainting the walls, or as massive as a gut renovation. Usually, the alterations happen without a hitch, other than maybe some delays, but when one woman pulled up the carpet in her new house, she found something that would have many new homeowners instantly regretting their decision.

Maey Mary shared her story in a Facebook group where she explained how, after ripping up her carpets, she discovered a giant pentacle carved into the hardwood floor. She shared photos of the scene, which clearly show etched into the floor a star within a circle, a symbol commonly used by Wiccans and other religious groups.

Even though many commenters said the symbol was a sign of "Satan followers" and "devil worshippers," the pentacle often just represents the five elements: earth, fire, water, air and spirit, and can be used as a sign of life and connections.

Nonetheless, commenters had a lot to say. One wrote, "Sage the home and ask all negative energy be released and invite love and light. Then sand, stain and shine that hardwood up." Another stated, "It's not a negative, it's a protection circle. Just sage your house, open all the windows for a day & decorate knowing you’re following on from some pretty powerful women (or men)." Others were more direct in their advice, with someone suggesting, "Move," another writing, "Run," and a third advising she "call a priest."

No word on what Maey wound up doing, but you can see her post on Facebook.
