Medley, FL - A beloved South Florida holiday tradition has announced they won't be open for Christmas this season.
The attraction, Santa's Enchanted Forest, has been a staple for families in the area for nearly four decades.
The attraction made the announcement on Instagram, writing "Santa's Enchanted Forest will be closed for the 2024 season as we reflect on four magical decades of cherished memories and plans for the future. As a beloved South Florida tradition, we have been honored to be part of countless family celebrations, filling the air with twinkling lights, laughter, and holiday spirit. 🎅🏻✨🎄While we won't be welcoming visitors this year, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to you for being an integral part of our journey. Your support has been the true magic behind our story. As you celebrate the holidays this season, we hope you’ll carry with you the warmth of the memories we've created together. Santa's Enchanted Forest began operating in 1984 at Tropical Park in Miami-Dade County.
After its lease expired in 2020, the attraction relocated to Hialeah and then to its current location at 7400 NW 87th Ave. in Medley.
While Santa's Enchanted Forest won't be open this year, another holiday attraction, Christmas Wonderland, will be taking its place at Tropical Park.
The two attractions have been competing for visitors in recent years.
The organizers of Santa's Enchanted Forest expressed their gratitude to the community for their support over the years and hope to return in the future.
