Iron Maiden Pays Tribute To Paul Di' Anno

Iron Maiden paid tribute to their fallen singer Paul Di'Anno in Minneapolis.

Bruce Dickinson stopped the show before the performance of "The Time Machine," to take a moment to remember Paul and his legacy.

"Take a few seconds to just close your eyes in silence," Bruce said. "Just internally, mentally, if you believe in God, if you don't believe in God, it actually doesn't matter. Just believe in what you believe in and just say, 'thanks, boss,' for doing what he did."

He then spoke directly to Di'Anno.

"This is a little message from Minneapolis to wherever you are, upstairs or downstairs, you're having fun. Minneapolis, for Paul Di'Anno, scream for me!"

The metal world is mourned the loss of Paul Di'Anno.

The original singer of Iron Maiden was 66.

"On behalf of his family, Conquest Music are sad to confirm the death of Paul Andrews, professionally known as Paul Di'Anno. Paul passed away at his home in Salisbury at the age of 66," his longtime label Conquest Music said in a statement. "Despite being troubled by severe health issues in recent years that restricted him to performing in a wheelchair, Paul continued to entertain his fans around the world, racking up well over 100 shows since 2023."

Iron Maiden replaced Paul after making two landmark alums with him in "Killers" and the self-titled "Iron Maiden". Although, the two parted ways, both sides remained amicable after, as Di' Anno was still a fan of the band after his departure. Iron Maiden shared a tribute of Paul on their social media with a photo of Di'Anno and founder Steve Harris.

"We are all deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Paul Di'Anno earlier today," the band said in the statement. "Paul's contribution to Iron Maiden was immense and helped set us on the path we have been travelling as a band for almost five decades. His pioneering presence as a frontman and vocalist, both on stage and on our first two albums, will be very fondly remembered not just by us, but by fans around the world."

Di'Anno would go on to front Gogmagog, Battlezone and his self-titled band, Di'Anno, and despite dealing with health issues prior he continued to perform as recent as last year.
