St. Lucie County, FL - A St. Lucie County law enforcement facility sustained damage from a suspected tornado on Wednesday.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Keith Pearson confirmed on social media Wednesday afternoon that the sheriff's office was impacted by the tornado.

While all deputies are safe, first responders are assessing the extent of the damage to the facility located on the 4700 block of West Midway Road in Fort Pierce.

Sheriff Pearson urged residents to remain indoors and seek shelter as severe weather conditions persist due to Hurricane Milton.
