86-Year-Old Man Recovering After Crashing Into A Light Pole In Cedar Rapids

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- An 86-year-old Cedar Rapids man is recovering after crashing into a light pole and driving through a cornfield.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says the man was heading east on Secrist Road at around 11:42 a.m. today when he drove into a ditch, crashed into a light pole and drove through a cornfield.

His car came to a stop in a ditch west of Marak Lane.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
