Paramore were "Burning Down the House" with all of their retro vibes at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival presented by Capital One.

The band took inspiration from the '80s for their high-energy set on Friday (September 20) as singer Hayley Williams channeled another female rocker in a bright blue mini dress and matching headband very reminiscent of a look worn by Blondie singer Debbie Harry. Williams even confirmed her inspiration by sharing a photo of Harry from Blondie's 1979 performance on The Midnight Special on her Instagram Stories.

Paramore kicked off their set with "Hard Times," off 2017's After Laughter, with Williams commanding the stage as she danced and jumped around before mashing the track with Blondie's "Heart of Glass." They kept the '80s inspiration going with their next track, a cover of the Talking Heads' "Burning Down the House."

Williams then took a break between songs to praise all the other artists who had performed throughout the night before sweetly shouting out one of her band members for his birthday. However, the birthday love didn't stop there as she revealed that her grandfather's birthday was on Saturday, so she go the entire crowd to shout "happy birthday" to him back home in Nashville.

Paramore went on to debut an updated version of "The Only Exception" with a unique take the honored the original from 2009's Brand New Eyes while giving it new life. The band then moved on to a newer track with "Big Man, Little Dignity," off their Grammy-winning album This Is Why, ending the song with a political statement condemning former President Donald Trump and urging everyone to vote in the upcoming election.

At some point during their set, Williams ditched her blue high heels to better dance around the stage, especially as the band ended their set with "Ain't It Fun," from Paramore's 2013 self-titled album.

Paramore's performance marks their first festival date in the U.S. this year after touring around Europe as one of the openers for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, which included Williams paying tribute to late Queen singer Freddie Mercury at Wembley Stadium in London.
