Yarmouth Conducting Oil Spill Response Training Today

There will be full-scale oil spill response training in Yarmouth today.

Personnel from MassDEP, the Yarmouth Division of Natural Resources, the Barnstable and Yarmouth Fire Departments and U.S. Coast Guard will be among the participants.

The training will focus on demonstrating multi-agency communication for an effective response in the first 24 to 48 hours of an oil spill.

The exercise will wrap-up with a simulated spill in Lewis Bay and the deployment of booms to contain it.
