Erik Prince on Protecting Trump After Second Assassination Attempt

In an in-depth conversation with Joe Pags, Erik Prince, renowned for his expertise in private security, shared critical insights into the growing security concerns surrounding former President Donald Trump. Following the second would-be-assassination attempt, Prince argued that Trump's security team needs to step up its game. He emphasized the need for higher-ranking military personnel, such as SEAL Team Six, on Trump’s security detail, urging Trump to consider adding "very offensive minded" to his team. He adds Trump should want a security detail who are "trained to hunt men."

Prince expressed frustration with the quality of Trump's current protection, calling it “horrifically embarrassing” and stressing that an improved perimeter and drone surveillance should be considered essential. During the interview, he also raised concerns about the would-be-assassin, who was armed with an SKS rifle and was well within range to cause serious harm. Prince questioned how the suspect obtained bombs and other weapons, prompting him to explore the possibility of a larger conspiracy. He stressed the importance of scrutinizing the suspect's communications and interactions over the past six months and years to uncover potential links.

The conversation also ventured into legal territory, with Prince discussing whether Governor Ron DeSantis, under the 10th Amendment, could take over the investigation from federal authorities. Prince’s main concern, however, remained with how best to protect Trump, suggesting stronger, offensive-minded security tactics moving forward.
