According to the Tribune, the Baton Rouge native and rapper NBA Youngboy was sentenced to 27 months in prison after pleading guilty to a gun charge.

YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, has been in jail since April of this year. His current federal gun case was moved from Louisiana to Utah.

His attorney, Bradford Cohen, expects him to be released much sooner due to time already served.

"Being right is a bad habit of mine...," Cohen shared on his Instagram. "Global plea 27 months... will be out with credit time served in prop 12 months... Lawyer did a nice job with resolving the matter successfully.

Gaulden was one of 16 people arrested during his video shoot in Louisiana in 2020, in August after illegally possessing a firearm that was not registered to the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Records.

Even though his gun charge was dropped, Gaulden still couldn't stay out of trouble after he was hit with a prescription drug charge in April of this year. More charges were added to his case.
