Former president Barack Obama marked the 10th anniversary of his tan suit scandal by celebrating Vice President Kamala Harris' similar outfit choice at the Democratic National Convention.

GOP figures blasted Obama on August 28, 2014 for wearing a tan suit at a White House press briefing. Critics claimed color demonstrated a "lack of seriousness" despite multiple past presidents wearing tan suits before Obama.

On Wednesday (August 28), Obama shared side-by-side photos of himself and Harris wearing their tan-colored suits, marking 10 years since his fashion scandal.

“How it started. How it’s going,” the former president said on social media.

“Ten years later, and it’s still a good look!” he added, including a link for Americans to register to vote.

Harris wore her tan suit look last week as she made a surprise appearance during the first night of the DNC in Chicago. Many believed her fashion choice was a subtle jab at Republicans who were critical of Obama when he did it during his presidency.

During the convention's first night, Harris, the Democratic nominee, shared a message of unity as attendees stood on their feet and cheered for her surprise appearance.

“Looking out at everyone tonight, I see the beauty of our great nation,” Harris said. “People from every corner of our country and every walk of life are here united by our shared vision for the future of our country, and this November, we will come together and declare with one voice, as one people, we are moving forward."

“With optimism, hope and faith, so guided by our love of country, knowing we all have so much more in common than what separates us, let us fight for the ideals we hold dear, and let us always remember when we fight, we win,” she added.

Harris later formally accepted the Democratic nomination for president during a speech on the final night of the convention.
