Broward Fully Implements Cell Phone Usage Ban In Schools

The two-week grace period over Broward's new school cellphone usage ban is over. Board member Dr. Allen Zeman says cell phones have no place in classrooms. The ban prohibits students from using phones during school hours- they must turn them off or put them in airplane mode. First time offenders will get a writen reprimand, 2nd time offenders will have their phones confiscated, 3rd time offenses amount to an in-school suspension and an out of school suspension. A petition to reverse the ban has over 18-thousand signatures.
