It turns out you can insure just about anything -- even a barbecue sandwich.
A food truck on the Isle of Man, located in the Irish Sea between Ireland and Britain, is offering customers the option of insuring their sandwiches against theft by seagull -- which is very common in the area. Hawkins BBQ started charging one pound, or about $1.30, per sandwich after dozens of diners complained that the birds had swooped in to swipe them.
The truck's owner explained that the seagulls are protected by law, and are breeding like crazy, leading them to be more aggressive about seeking out chow. Cash raised by the charge will go to a local wildlife charity. (Facebook)
