GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Court documents say Meijer lost more than $800,000 in an organized retail fraud operation over several years.
Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker says the group used counterfeit coupon barcodes.
Meijer lost $134,000 in less than two months in early 2022 due to the scheme.
Eight people were charged and most of them have already been sentenced for conducting a criminal enterprise. Some are already serving prison sentences.
