Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason has expressed his interest in seeing the band continue its legacy through Artificial Intelligence (AI). With the reunion of Roger Waters, David Gilmour, and himself seeming unlikely, Mason believes AI could offer a fascinating avenue for new music. In a recent interview with The Mirror, he pondered the potential of AI in shaping the future direction of Pink Floyd, even envisioning a scenario where AI could simulate a reconciliation between Waters and Gilmour.
Drawing parallels with ABBA's avatar show, Voyage, in London, Mason suggested that Pink Floyd could adopt a similar approach. He seemed excited about the prospect of using AI to create a new chapter for the band, potentially transforming their dynamic and sound in the process. This innovative idea could pave the way for a unique blend of classic Pink Floyd and modern technology.
Despite the disbandment of Pink Floyd, Mason, Waters, and Gilmour continue to perform individually. Mason's band, Saucerful of Secrets, focuses on performing Pink Floyd material recorded before the 1973 album, The Dark Side of the Moon. The last time Pink Floyd performed together was at the Live 8 benefit in London's Hyde Park in 2005.
