(Rock Island, IL) -- The Rock Island - Milan School District now has its first deputy superintendent.
The school board voted 5-2 in favor of hiring Jeff Dase for the job. He was an assistant superintendent at Decatur Public Schools.
The board approved an annual salary of $173,000 for the position.
Superintendent Dr. Sharon Williams says Dase will provide support for principals on a day-to-day basis.
