There’s lucky, there’s really lucky, and then there’s Latoya Burke. The Virginia woman bought six tickets for the Pick 5 game from the Virginia Lottery on June 5th, and used the same five numbers for all of the tickets. The numbers she picked were the winners for that drawing, which means she won $30,000…per ticket.
The winning numbers were 5-5-5-5-0, and Burke bought “50/50” tickets, which gave her $30,000 per ticket for a total prize of $180,000. When asked about her win when she went to pick up her winnings, she said, “I checked the numbers, and I was happy,” which might be the understatement of the year.
