Lend a Helping Can raises money for 12 New England charitable agencies to feed the Needy and Homeless.

 

Studio Park to kick off 'Listening Lawn' Concert Series tonight

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Listening Lawn concert series begins tonight at the Studio Park Piazza in downtown Grand Rapids. Studio Park says there will be installations of state-of-the-art audio, a full stage and specialty lighting for each show, through August.

The Wood Brothers will kick things off this (Friday) evening at 7 o'clock. Victor Wooten & The Wooten Brothers will perform tomorrow (Saturday) night.

Here are more details from a Studio Park news release:

The Wood Brothers, familiar to many from seasonal returns to West Michigan. They’ll be playing “an enthusiastic and joyous set exuding passion and capturing the almost spiritual connection that comes naturally to The Wood Brothers." - Holler Country.  Much of it will be drawn from the band’s eighth studio album, ‘Heart is the Hero.’ Next up (on Saturday) will be five time Grammy award winning artist, Victor Wooten & The Wooten Brothers. The five brothers are a musical tour-de-force, redefining the limits of jazz, funk, soul, R&B, rock, and bluegrass.  Here is the full line-up for the summer, with great music to come!

· Victor Wooten & The Wooten Brothers, July 13

· Spin Doctors, July 19

· Robert Randolph Band, July 26

· The Lone Bellow, July 27

· May Erlewine, August 22

· KT Tunstall, August 24

The seven concert series will take place over July & August, and features: 

·        KT Tunstall: the Grammy® nominated Scottish folk-rock musician, who burst onto the music scene in 2004 with multi-platinum debut, Eye to the Telescope

·        The Wood Brothers: the Grammy® nominated leaders of American roots music

·        Robert Randolph Band:  a virtuoso on the pedal steel guitar, Randolph is on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. The four time Grammy® nominated musician will bring a unique blend of gospel, funk and soul to the stage.
