More Bear Sightings In Eastern Iowa

(Undated) -- The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is sharing some more photos of black bears recently seen in Iowa. The DNR says there are at least four roaming around eastern Iowa currently.

The DNR is reminding residents to give bears plenty of space and do not go looking for bears. The DNR is offering additional tips:

Be Bear Wise and avoid attracting bears to your yard:

Put food items away, including pet food

Store grills and smokers inside, or cover them and remove drip pans

Keep garbage and recycling cans inside, or get bear-resistant cans

Avoid feeding birds when bears are active in your area

Pick up fallen fruit from trees

The DNR also posted a note about the coloring of the bear photographed on a deck, noting despite it's brown coloring it's still a black bear.
