Patricia Richardson was the reason why "Home Improvement" came to an end after eight seasons. At least on paper.
After those eight seasons, Patricia says both she and Tim Allen wanted out. But ABC wanted another year out of them. They offered Tim $2 million per episode, and Patricia $1 million.
Patricia's idea to shut them down was to demand EQUAL PAY. As she expected, they pulled the plug.
She says, quote, "I knew that Disney would in no way pay me that much. That was my way to say 'no' and was a little bit of a flip-off to Disney."
Patricia was upset with Tim at the time, because he kept his mouth shut and let HER be the bad guy, even though he wanted out, too.
