When Slowhand Went Unplugged And Created A Classic

Today Eric Clapton recorded his now classic MTV Unplugged concert.

The live performance as part ofthe MTV Unplugged series where bands would play acoustic sets of their songs. In 1992, Claptn's performance on the show became popular enough that he released the concert as a live album. It included the live version of the "Tears in Heaven" and the acoustic slowed down version of "Layla". The album won three Grammys, became the bestselling live album of all time, and Clapton's bestselling album ever with 26 million copies sold. Clapton would later sell one of the Martin acoustic guitars, in 2004, for $791,500 at auction.
