IDEAS FOR COOKING –

EASTER QUICHE – You can make homemade dough or buy pie crust and lay down on greased pie dish and cook for 15 minutes until a little golden at 375. For your filling I cook, sweet onions, chopped Italian sausage, chopped ham, mushrooms, spinach, (you can do bacon too, but I don’t prefer it), diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, and garlic, once done set aside. In a bowl mix eggs, milk, heavy whipping cream, paprika, Dijon mustard, pepper, dried Italian seasoning and then add your cheese! It depends on what you like, but I prefer cheddar and feta, but you can use goat cheese, mozzarella, whatever combinations you like. Add your egg mixture to your filling mix and then pour into your pie crust. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until you can shake your pie dish without the egg moving.

BAKED STUFFED BRIOCHE FRENCH TOAST – This is one of my favorite Easter Sunday treats! I prepare this the night before and then cook on Easter morning. In a greased casserole dish, I line it with slices of brioche bread, then in a bowl mix soft cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla and your favorite berries (I usually do chopped strawberries and some seedless raspberry jam), and then spread the cream cheese on each of the pieces of breads, then top with another piece of brioche. In a bowl mix eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour it all over the casserole and let it sit soaking for 20 minutes or overnight in the fridge. Before you cook it, sprinkle with more brown sugar and top with tinfoil and cook for 20 minutes, remove foil and cook for another 10-15 minutes or until eggs are custard, and serve with whipped cream, and maple syrup.
