COLD CASE NH: Roberta "Bobbie" Miller

Obviously if you have listened to our show than you know that I have a fascination for true crime. I know I am not alone either. I spend a lot of days following news stories and am excited when the bad is caught, punished and justice is served. The sad reality there are so many situations where this doesn't happen. People that go missing forever, people that have been murdered but nobody has been caught. In NH we have over 120 unsolved murders or missing person! This shouldn't be happening! We should have more cold case units investigating these cases. It breaks my heart . . .but now people are becoming more aware of these cases. With DNA and genealogy testing with the help of "crime junkies" and people that just want justice to be served, people are getting caught.

I was looking into cold cases right here in NH and thought I would start blogging stories that are local. These are people's sisters, brothers, wives and mothers, fathers and husbands and there are no answers . . .yet. Maybe by me just putting these stories out there someone will say something, maybe a memory will come to mind to help the case, maybe someone's guilty conscience will finally lead investigators to answers.

My first story I am doing is about Roberta "Bobbie" Miller because the anniversary of her murder is coming up on October 31st. Bobbie and her dog were killed in her Gilford, NH home on October 31st, 2010. Her son, Jonathan Miller, made a phone call to 9-1-1 on November 1st before 5pm to report his mother's death. Just days before her murder her exes camp in Acton, ME was burned down. The news reports say this is arson. Could they be related? Nobody has been caught for either incident! Can you help with this case? Did you know Bobbie? I am thinking of submitting her story to one of the many podcasts I listen to so maybe it gets more attention.

Bobbie's story from the headlines:

From the NH Cold Case Unit:

On October 31, 2010, Roberta Miller, age 54, was found dead in her home on Country Club Road in Gilford, NH. Miller had been living alone at the residence, and died from gunshot wounds. Her dog "Scout" was also found shot to death at the scene. (Tip Form: https://business.nh.gov/ColdCaseTips/Tip.aspx?Victim=Roberta%20Miller)

Bobbie had just gone through a very long divorce at the time of her murder. She had just moved from Wolfboro to Gilford in August of 2010. She was starting her life over. On the Friday before her murder her exes camp was burnt down in Acton, ME. The news reports confirm this was arson.

Her family has been trying to get answers for so long. For many years a billboard was on route 104 in NH with a picture of Bobbie. They have tried so hard to get someone to come forward and now as 11 years approaches lets get this case back out there so maybe someone will help solve this. I can't imagine going through this as a family. Nothing has been released about this investigation since 2010!

This site I found breaks down so much about this case. After reading all of this some of you might conclude it was Gary, but I don't believe it was. What do you think?
