The weekend started Thursday night for me. Valerie and I went to see our friends in The Adam Ezra Group play the Rex Theater-
And I want to be clear about something - I don't rave about this band because I happen to be good friends with Adam - I rave about them because THEY ARE AN INCREDIBLE BAND of talented musicians and singers. They're folk, rock, soul, and a lot more - and the vibe of their shows is infectious. Trust me when I tell you - ONE SHOW is all it takes, and you'll be hooked. Thursday night was a great show. They played for over two hours and the sound mix was excellent. They are selling more and more tickets to each show nowadays- which is going against the grain of how the concert industry is going- and they've got a cd release party at the HOUSE OF BLUES in Boston on 6/20. The album is next level for these guys- and I'd love to see more people find out about this band- and see/hear what I've known about for 10+ years! Great music made by great folks. Trust me, you won't regret it.
On Friday night our daughter came down with her partner and a couple friends for dinner at the house and we watched NCAA Womens Final Four game. The better team won, and I'll say this- Geno Auriema showed no grace or class in walking off the court when his team lost. He threw a fit over some bullshit thing about South Carolina Coach Dawn Staley not shaking his hand - when there's photos of her doing exactly that before the game started. Its a BAD look for such a great coach. He's the winningest coach in womens college basketball history- and he acted like a spoiled jag off on Friday night.
And P.S. - His "apology" the next day was clearly written by a UCONN pr person. It was about as sincere me saying Im sorry for eating the last piece of cake. <hahah >
Next!
