My Weekend: 2 Trips to Maine, 1 for Photos, Another for Beer. And- the Pats

If I was rating my weekend, like we sometimes do on Monday's show- I'd give it a 9. That's a damn good weekend if you ask me!

We started with a really nice quiet dinner with friends on Friday night, and got home about 8:30ish. That was good because the plan was to head up the coast of Maine on Saturday morning. See, the weather is the biggest deciding factor if Im going to go out with the camera on weekend mornings - and Saturday was the only day thanks looked good.

So - it was off to Harpswell and Bailey Island. I heard the harbor at Lookout Point in Harpswell had some sea ice so I thought I'd see what I could see-

It was actually fairly "warm" out - with about 35 degrees, but the roads were pretty slick. Even walking on them was a challenge! I love that area of Maine, man. So beautiful, and so much there to photograph- like this sunrise on Bailey Island

I drove around the area for a bit after sunrise and then returned to Lookout Point in Harpswell to re-visit the sea ice i shot earlier before sunrise. The tide was lower so I could walk out on the sea ice without having to worry about floating out to sea- hahah

The place was empty - and the only sound you could hear was the ice "breathing". Well, that's what it felt like. You're hear it move, the crack, and then break. Kind of eerie, but cool too.

Pretty cool to be out there walking on it.

I got home about 11am, and an hour or so later and we headed out for our weekly brew tour with our friends Gary & Lorraine! It was back up to Maine- Portland this time to hit two new spots (for us) - The Send - which had great beer and food. It's got some really good Japanese beer and food. I had the Sapporo Lager and some crispy wings! Boom! Delish!

And then it was over to SoPo (that's what the cool kids - like me- hahah j/k- call South Portland) to hit up Bissell Brothers Brewing. I know - its a very popular place- but we had never been. And there's a good reason it's popular- it's awesome!

Sunday was a pretty chill day, we just hung at the house, had my dad over for dinner and watched the Pats.
