My Weekend: Farmers, Dogs, Brewers, Birds and Bowls

Ain't no snowstorm gonna keep me down, bruh!!!!

It was a busy weekend, and that included pretty much staying home all day Sunday digging out and watchin the bowl!

Here's some samples from what seemed like the first "normal" weekend I've had in a long time -

Friday afternoon I didn't go home after the show- I headed to a couple of spots to check out some friends of mine -

And I got to watch a couple immature bald eagles do a bit of aerobatics too -

Also got to watch one take a meal break -

Saturday morning I got out early and headed to the coast. The forecast- by all accounts- said it would be a sucky morning. Good thing I don't listen to weather apps and such!

These two lighthouses - Portsmouth Harbor Light (right) and Whaleback Light look like they are side by side- but they're actually about a half mile apart. I took this shot from a good distance away and the long lens (600mm) so it was cool to get both of the lighthouses in the same image. It turned out to be a beautiful morning, well, before the sunrise anyway. Here's another image I took from Kittery Point Maine looking out at the Lifesaving Station. I pulled into Pepperrell Cove and saw a huge flock of birds overhead, so I just waited for them to get over the buildings in the distance-

And once again, Whaleback looks side by side to the Lifesaving Station, but it isn't. It felt good just to be out, near the ocean, and be greeted with a cool sky and some different perspectives to shoot from.

Then it was home to hit the local farmers market with our daughter Cait and her friends. Picked up some root veggies, Kombucha from Auspicious Brewing (good stuff!), and some pretzels! Love the farmers markets!

And a farmers market is the only place you'll see potatoes like this- (thats ALL one potato)

Then it was time to resume the Brew Tour with our friends Gary and Lorraine. We've got to be up about about 60-70 local breweries visited in the last year and a half or so! This time we headed to Portland to hit Foundation Brewing Co, Allagash Brewing and Definitive Brewing Co! All were awesome and within walking distance of each other!

And here's a comment and a question: One of the things I love about breweries is the casual atmosphere in them. Kids and dogs are welcome. Its always chill and everybody is cool. But on Saturday, I saw this-

Now, Im really cool with dogs in places like this- BUT - this dog was sitting ON THE TABLE. And not only that- it was WALKING AROUND on the table as well!

Is that OK? I mean, I LOVE dogs- and having a dog there is fine, but ON THE TABLE - where others will be eating after you leave? Bad form, right? Or am I wrong? You tell me - greg@morningbuzz.com

Then on Sunday, we dug out from the storm, and then chilled out waiting to watch the game.

Super Bowl LVII - Previews - Wednesday February 8th

I don't have a dog in the hunt here, the Chief's have won a lot so that makes me want to take the underdog. On the other hand - I don't mind the Eagles team - but some of the fans are the worst in the sport (and I say that fully admitting the some Pats fans are damn close to being the worst as well). That said- Im still gonna pull for Philly.

Hope you had a good weekend-
