Here's what happened.
I couldn't go to the path of totality to see and photograph the eclipse - mainly because I didn't want to deal with the hassle I knew it would be. I don't want to do traffic jams and large crowds. I prefer to do photography in less chaotic places. Having said that, I know I would LOVE to have been in that path of totality just to experience that.
The other reason I could't go was because I originally had a physical scheduled with my family doctor for 2:30p on the day of the eclipse. Turns out, however, that the doc cancelled and pushed it to Thursday.
So - ok maybe I got a shot, if I decide I want to roll the dice.
Then a home project that wasn't supposed to start for two months suddenly got green lit to start TODAY. And if you know anything about how those things work nowadays- when you get a chance to get the work started for a project- then you take what you can get when you can get it.
So - I was homebound once again and the decision was made for me.
On Monday, I head home to meet the construction guys. My daughter Caitlin shows up with some viewing glasses - and she needs help with a project she's working on for her apartment. I agreed to help and we started working in the garage - and when the eclipse started to happen - we watched it together!
Here's a total Dad moment from our viewing "party" - hahah
Haha- TOTAL Dad thing to say, right!!!
Loved the "Oh Gawdddd"!
As we sat there and watched- and this is absolutely true- I swear - I thought to myself:
Everything turned out perfectly. I was where I wanted to be.
