A high school in Oklahoma was doing a fundraising week to help raise money for "Not Your Average Joe's Coffee Shop" - which employs people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities.
One of the things they did to raise money was to have kids licking peanut butter off the toes of other students, Ha!!!
Apparently, it was at an assembly called "Clash of the Classes" that students pay to attend. It was high school students from Freshman to Seniors and they volunteered to participate in various challenges between classes.
Each of the kids signed up for the games ahead of time and no faculty or staff participated during the assembly.
The district also said students were paired up with corresponding grade levels for the competition where students were seen in the video licking toes.
Man- fundraising sure has changed!!! hahah -
Naturally the school district lost it's s*** over it- and parents were outraged. "A full investigation was launched" - according to the Superintendant.
I dont know, maybe it's just me- but how about we cool our jets a bit on this one, huh? I get it's certainly something someone should have spoken up about with a "hey- is this really a good idea?" question - but lets not get all wild about it, right?
And check this- the students raised OVER $150,000.00 for the coffee shop!!!
