So - just wanted to share one of "those" moments where things don't exactly go the way you hoped!
You know I photograph bald eagles. Love watching them and the challenging of getting an image that shows their amazing ability, grace and majesty. I mean - a 6-7 ft wingspan is damn impressive when it flies right over your head!
And the photo I've always wanted to capture- is one of an eagle diving into the water to grab a fish- and I've only see it once before, and the eagle flew in, 10 ft over my head on the side of a lake- and dove directly into the water in front of me. It happened so fast I never had time to even lift the camera. Ugh. Figures. Just my luck, right?
Well - I got to see it this past weekend- and i finally did get to get some images of it -
With one slight problem -
It was from the ass end! haha- She was flying away from me when she dove towards the water, and I KNEW what she was going for. So - I stayed with her anyway- even though I know it was going to piss me off! Haha- but hey, what are you gonna do, right?
I did, however, get some other shots.....so that makes it a little easier to take-
Say what you will, but watching these giant birds play and work together, and dote on each other - is pretty cool to see, and always challenging to photograph.
