My Weekend: A Killer Show, Brew Tour, Sunrises and Dog S***

So, our casual Brew Pub tour continued on Friday night in Dover NH at Garrison City Beerworks!

If you haven't been following along lately- basically Valerie and I go out each Friday night to local brew pubs. Now admittedly- Im not the biggest beer lover- HOWEVER- I'm really having a blast with this and am trying a beer or two each week. Granted, I stick to more of the lighter beers - but whatever! We're having a great time doing it! Garrison Beerworks was a lot of fun! Really cool staff, good beer (I had the lager), and some really good tex mex inspired food! We met some nice folks (however, I don't think we officially met the photo bombers in the pic above- but they seemed like nice folks! haha). - here's a pic of a nice couple- Stacie and Steve! Funny thing is - Stacie recognized Valerie first! Haha- thats awesome!

After that, a short walk away was The Empty Pint!

Hung out for a while there. Bartender was wicked nice - and Im pretty sure I had something called "The Kissing Booth". Not the manliest of titles- but what'd ya expect? I ain't drinking anything called something like THE HAMMER OF THOR!!!

Got up early on Saturday and headed out. Sunrise looked like it was a bust so I just went out looking and ended up in Portsmouth. I always head down to the docks first- its such a photographic place no matter the time of day. Here's one from the state pier.....

And then I shot kind of a dreamy pic of a bench in Prescott Park.

I have a thing for empty benches and seats. In this one, I loved how the light above lit just the bench, so i softened the details around it to highlight it. I only wanted the bench to be in focus because that's where I want someone to sit. Empty benches in parks, and along trails, are like the friends you have that are there if you ever need them. You may not see them for a while - but that's cool. When you need - they're always there.

That's how I think about stuff like that. I always give inanimate things human qualities. Yeah, I prolly need therapy... hahah

Grabbed a nice cup of joe from BEAN ME UP in Rochester! Never been there before and I love to stop in to local coffee shops - they always have the best coffee. And- The Bean Me Up folks did not disappoint!

Got to head up to York Harbor....I love that place. It's so peaceful early in the morning, and nobody is ever around!

The second pic is an iphone pic.

And of course, it wouldn't be a weekend if I didn't see a Bald Eagle or two.....

This one was just chillin......

And this one was coming in hot....

Check out the talons! They've got feathers on them- from the eagle preening itself a little earlier (or - maybe something it killed recently). I think it was preening because of the ruffled feathers of its wings. Eagles adjust their feathers by scratching and adjusting them with their beak and talons.r

On Saturday night Valerie and I went to THE MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET at the Music Hall in Portsmouth- and honestly- it was hands down one of the best show's I'd ever seen.....

It's the story of Sun Records studios- and the owner Sam Phillips- who in one year recorded hit records for Elvis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis. And on one night- they all showed up to jam at the studio. Four of the greatest of greats, in one room. And the production and performances is nothing short of genius. The show ended on Sunday- but if you ever get a chance to see it - YOU GOTTA GO. I promise you will be amazed! All the actors are playing and singing thru the whole show and it's powerful, straight up rock and roll. I can't say enough about it- seriously- it was a 10 out of 10 for me.

Sunday was Easter and we had a nice family dinner......in the middle of the afternoon - which left plenty of time for watching The Masters and...

picking up dog shit in the yard.

And I'll spare you the pic I took of it - and give you this instead....

Haha.....that's my life.

Hope you had a good one!
