Had a great weekend! Of course, I say that because the Celtics won! We went to the game - and if they had lost, I doubt I'd feel real good about the weekend, right!!?
Started out on Friday by getting home and busting out a weekends worth of stuff I needed to do -
Seriously - got so much stuff done that I felt I may be "nesting" - getting ready to pop a kid out!! (fyi- if you don't know - some people say pregnant women get a huge burst of energy right before labor begins...)
Aerated, seeded the lawn, cleaned the grill, pulled out all the patio stuff, and made a trash run to the dumpster. All before 5p on Friday. Figured I'd get it out of the way - and then I'd free up the weekend a bit!!
Went out shooting on Saturday morning. Headed up to Meredith and caught some pretty nice light just before sunrise...
Such a pretty area along the lake. It was peaceful and warm- and it felt almost like a summer morning!
Banged a right out of Meredith and headed around the lake toward Wolfeboro - and grabbed some breakfast here...The Village Kitchen!
Really nice hometown vibe there and the servers were excellent- and the breakfast was too!
Then I dropped in to see my friend Josh Spaulding (he works for Salmon Press as their sports guy - and also does Olympic Reports for us whenever he goes. He also is a baker at this place...
Josh (right) introduced me to Peter, the manager- and I grabbed some gingerbread cookies (which are incredible), some hermits, and other stuff for Valerie (no really! I got em for HER!!! haha). Everything we delicious!
Watched the Bruins on Saturday, and that was a tough one. We just couldn't hang with the Canes. That's all there is to it...
But one of the many things I love about hockey - is the respect they pay to tradition. They're the only professional sport that I know of that LINES UP to congratulate each other at the end of a playoff series...
As rough as the game can be- they pay respect to those that came before them. No showboating, no Superstar attitudes - just hard working, nose breaking hockey. And when its over-win or lose- they shake hands. Love that.
Sure am going to miss Patrice Bergeron. Total class act and great player. Tough way to end the season, but I loved watching them play, and I always love the playoff ride.
Sunday- we headed down to the Garden to see GAME 7 of the Celtics/Bucks series. Valerie and I went to Game 1, and they lost. But hey- there were 19,000 OTHER PEOPLE THERE TOO! So when I got the chance to go, I grabbed it.
Valerie is a huge Celtics fan (and Marcus Smart is her favorite). There's nothing better than seeing her at a Celts game-
She loses it!! hahah- More on that in the next post....
So - a pretty damn good weekend! Hope you all had a good one too!
