I have a giant box of photos from over the years that I've collected- and I started looking through them when we moved to the new studio.
I thought I'd share some of them from time to time here- so you can see some of the folks we've met, things we've done, and how we've changed through the years -
So here's a few to get it started....
I met Lars Ulrich with Roadkill when we went to see Metallica at Gillette Stadium.
As down to earth and cool as you'd hope. And yet- when he took any picture with anyone - he made the same face!!! It was classic!
Im pretty sure James was there too, and maybe Robert - and it was a hell of a day, and a great show (of course).
Limp Bizkit was on the bill and they played a cover of the Who's "Behind Blue Eyes" - and some chick sitting in front of Roadkill and I turned to her friend and said "I just love Fred Durst- doesn't he write the most beautiful songs????"
That's when I almost puked.
Ugh.
The night Velvet Revolver played the arena in Manchester. Got to hang with Slash and interview him on the air. It's the infamous interview where Laura went to hand him is mic, and he just started talking into it - forcing her to hold it out there for him during the entire interview! Haha- her face was classic! ps. He smoked the whole interview - haha! Really nice dude though. He told us his kids all think he's a dork.
Im like- WHAT? DO THEY KNOW YOU'RE FRIGGIN SLASH????? - hahah-
Kids are the great equalizer, aren't they?
Here I am - the Ring Announcer for ESPN 2's BOXING NIGHT- Live from the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom.
I was lucky enough to be there doing this on one of Mickey Ward's famous fights there (yeah, the one featured in the movie "The Fighter"). It was insane. Lot of mob types all over the place. Watch a woman standing on her chair when some dude asked her to get down (less than politely, I might add). She told him to "F off" - and he hauled off and cold cocked her right in the mouth! She crashed to the floor, and the chicken-shit dude disappeared into the crowd. Lucky for him - because the folks around them would have killed him. They never found him. Crazy night..
But damn I looked good...hahah..
First time we met Triple H, backstage at the THEN Verizon Wireless Arena. He mistakenly called me "Glenn" once and we never let him forget it. Paul is one of the nicest guys I've ever met . Period. We stay in touch and he's always joined us for
Lend a Helping Can and other charity stuff that we've done. He's a class act, no doubt about it. And all of us are hoping he fully recovers from his recent health struggles. They don't make em any better than Triple H.
