My Initial Thoughts on Brady "Un-Retiring"

I know there are those who are screaming "I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!"

But I'm not one of them.

I did not see this coming, or think that it would.

And the reason for that is that I have so much respect for TB12 that I thought - "The man says he's done, then the man is DONE". He's not a guy that goes back on his word! He makes the call and moves FORWARD!

ALWAYS FORWARD.

I ignored all the stories written from a million different people because all that shit is usually just grist for the sports radio mill, where they endlessly drum up "CONTROVERSIES" to fill a whole lot of airtime. And hey- Im not knocking the folks who work in the sports radio - but everyone in radio (including them) know that is the name of the game. Make the f'n phones ring. Period. So they do...

But I with Brady- the man deserved to call his own shot, and he did. He had had ENOUGH. So he made as gracefull an exit as one could. And on his own terms.

Oh, but WAIT....

I guess I jumped the gun. Well, actually no - that's not right. HE jumped the gun. He called it quits when he wasn't really ready.

What was it that fueled this re-entry into the game? Can he not exist without competing? That's my guess. The dude is nothing if he can't compete.

Some will say it was his wife that made him quit. Get out of here with that BS. Football fans want to make Giselle into the modern day Yoko. NONSENSE. Of course she wants him to quit. He's an old man in a young mans game. One in which he could be badly injured at any given moment of any given game or practice. But force him to quit? Nope. Nope. and Nope. She's too smart for that, and so is he.

And look, I'll enjoy watching him play, so I'm not pissed about him coming back. I just wish these guys would go gracefully into the good night, and not turn back. Take the millions and millions of dollars and friggin RELAX - instead of running back into the spotlight once the applause dies down.

Again, I don't think it's an applause issue with TB. I think it's simply the man is nothing if he's not competing.

So, while part of me wishes he would have walked away and kept right on going- for HIS own sake - you cant really be angry that you get to watch the best to ever play the game - play it one more time.

(I just hope to God he doesn't get seriously hurt......)
