Some folks are upset that a “humiliating” video of 10 teachers from South Dakota, scrambling on all-fours to stuff their clothes with dollar bills (to be used in their classrooms) was part of a Sioux City hockey team promotion. Many folks say that our nation’s educators shouldn’t be fighting hand over fist for classroom funding.
The disheartening scene camefrom Argus Leader reporter Annie Todd, who was at the Premier Center in Sioux Falls for the Stampede vs. Tri-City Storm hockey match on Dec. 11.
“After the first period local teachers will participate in the first-ever Dash For Cash. $5,000 is up for grabs for teachers to use in their classrooms,”Todd tweetedon Friday.
Some compared the "competition" to The Squid Games- and called it "dystopian".
I think thats a bit over the top, if you ask me. I mean - I watched people crawl across the ice blindfolded just to win a gift card to the local pizza joint! Did anyone care about what THAT dude did for a living?
