I've heard about the Sea Shanty craze that was sweeping Tik Tok (even though Im not on that), and I kind of dig the feel of those old sea songs. Then, today- I was browsing through Netflix and saw this movie- "Fisherman's Friends" - and it's about a group of fisherman who sang nightly in their small seaside town. I think these guys had to be where this revival started- because they ended up getting a record deal and had a massive hit!
You ever see a movie you've never heard of on Netflix- and think - "ahhh hell with it, I'll give it a try!" ?? Well that's what I did here - and I was pleasantly surprised. It's pretty funny, with some great characters- and I dig the music. And - it's based on the true story of the group "Fisherman's Friends"!
It's a fun, easy watch.
