Took a solo trip up to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor ME. It's one of the most beautiful places - if not THE most beautiful place - in all of New England. Here's a few of my photos...
I stood out on the rocks of Otter Cove, looking toward Otter Cliff - alone, at 11pm. I have to be honest and say that at first- it was pretty unnerving. Alone, in what felt like the middle of nowhere, in the dark. But after a short time - with the Milky Way very visible to the naked eye, that feeling turned to one of comfort. After that, I found myself sitting in between shots - sometimes for long moments, just looking and listening in the dark. The waves crashing, followed by silence. It was comforting. It was a kind of solitude I have never experienced by myself. And it was good for the soul......
Fog and Light. Willard Beach, Portland ME. I love these two shacks, and the way the fog played with the morning light. I love the push and pull between the two - fog and light. One hides while the other reveals. And in a moment, it can create the coolest scenes - only to be one in minutes.
In the moments before the sunrise, all was still in the harbor. The tide was low, and the wind was nil. It was as if Mother Nature was taking a moment to catch her breath. And those moments- are wonderful to witness.
Heres the view of Otter Cliffs in Acadia National Park. If you've never been there....
