5 Pics (or so) From My Weekend: Acadia, Empty Places and Woodpeckers

At 9:56am on Friday morning I was out the door of the station and on my way to Bar Harbor ME. I spent the weekend up in and around one of my favorite places on earth- Acadia National Park. If you live here and have never been - GO. It's absolutely an amazing collection of landscapes and beautiful places that are unlike any in New England.

I met my friend Scott up there to do some shooting (with a camera) and we played the whole weekend by ear. No set plans on where to go or what to shoot. It was awesome, and Mother Nature gifted us with some amazing conditions - an incredible sunrise, sunset, some thick clouds and a little rain. I didn't get home until Sunday late afternoon, so this was pretty much my entire weekend. So here's a few pics -

3.5 hours after I left the station- I was standing here: Jesup Path, in the Sieur De Monts Spring of Acadia National Park (ANP). This was my first stop, and everytime I go to ANP - I visit this path a few times. It might be the most peaceful place I have ever been in my life. And like I wrote on the pic- it feels like a world away from everything else.

Seriously. How do you not fall in love with a coastline like that?

And speaking of that- it's a perfect place for a sunrise shoot -

(but this shot was taken with my phone because I havent had a chance to do anything with the over 1900 images I shot)

And if you're a bird lover - check this s*** out-

And on this, the last weekend before Memorial Day- one of the best things about it was- THE PLACE WAS PRETTY MUCH EMPTY!! This is from a bar at 9pm on SATURDAY NIGHT -

WHERE IS EVERYBODY!????

And the next one was one of the dumb looking things i do to get the shot I want...

And....theres also this....

*courtesty of my buddy Scott....

And it wasn't all sunshine and bright colors- sometimes Mother Nature throws you a curve ball, but it doesn't mean you can't hit it -

And last but not least- one more shot taken with my phone-

Seriously. If you want to take a drive wit h scenes that will take your breath away- take the Park Loop Rd at ANP.

And that's my 5 or so pics from a very memorable weekend.

Hope yours was great too!
