Your after work and weekend schedule is about to greatly open up as Netflix switches away from the binge-watching model for some of their series. For the upcoming season of The Great British Baking Show, the streaming site will drop episodes weekly rather than all at once as they had done in the past. Netflix is doing something similar for the rap competition show Rhythm & Flow, breadcrumbing episodes three at a time, a move Hulu has tried in the past. According to Comicbook.com, the hope is waiting will "keep the suspense of eliminations alive." One would argue that the binge model is what brought on Netflix's success, so this change seems out of left field. Even more strange when you look at the performance of weekly released shows, almost all weekly shows in the last three years are no longer running. Do you prefer weekly episodes or binge-watching?
