Ignoring state coronavirus restrictions, more than 700 New Jersey residents turned out for a huge party Sunday at an Airbnb rental house, police say. The massive gathering, which had been advertised as a "Mansion Party" on flyers that were distributed throughout the area, occurred in Jackson, police say.
After receiving complaints from neighbors, officers arrived at about 8:30 p.m. to find the unmasked partygoers ignoring social distancing regulations. Plus, the number of attendees far exceeded the 50-person social gathering limit set by Governor Phil Murphy, according to the Jackson Police Department. Officers say it took more than four hours to get everyone to leave.
Summonses have been issued for the homeowner, 40-year-old Yaakov Weiss, as well as party organizers Patience Guanue, 23, and Alicia Hinneh, 22, prosecutors say. Is this the result of people becoming too restless after having nothing to do for so long? What have you done to keep busy in recent months?
