Dave Grohl did the best he could to keep a potentially bad situation positive on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
Foo Fighters were in the middle of performing "Everlong" when a fan hopped up on the band's runway, a catwalk that stretched from the front of the stage pretty far into the crowd, and broke towards the stage with arms outstretched. This should have been a signal to security to do something, but they did nothing.
Fortunately, the fan just wanted to hug Grohl, but these days do you want a rogue fan charging the stage? Ever the pro, Grohl treated him politely, asking him his name -- which the fan said was "Jevon, with a J" [pr: like Kevin, but with a J]. He then told Jevon with as much charm as he could muster to "Get the [eff] off my stage," and escorted him far enough for security to take Jevon, with a J, away.
Grohl didn't seem rattled and even dedicated the rest of "Everlong" to Jevon. Possibly not wanting a repetition from other crowd members, Grohl told them that he'd just "saved [Jevon's] effing life -- presumably by not having security beat the crap out of him -- and that Jevon would "get to see another day."
WARNING! The video contains a couple of F-bombs, so do not post to your station's website. FYI: The guy gets onto the runway at 4:15 into the clip.
