SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) -- Starlandia Art Supply celebrated its new expansion with a ribbon cutting.
Starlandia, Savannah's only new and reclaimed art material store, heads into its 10th year with more space for artists to gather, create, and display their art.
“Opening this store has been the adventure of a lifetime,” said owner and founder Clinton Edminster. “It is so exciting to have this new space to help so many other artists make so many beautiful things.”
The expansion, adjacent to the existing store on Bull Street near Victory Drive, doubles Starlandia's retail space.
Since opening in 2015, Starlandia has become a hub of Savannah’s art community. By selling reclaimed art supplies, they have kept over 20,000 pounds of art supplies out of local landfills. And with Savannah's thriving art scene, they are able to offer supplies at a lower cost to artists who may not be able to afford more expensive materials.
