Chicago Bears Confirm Arlington Heights as Site for New Stadium

The Official Building Plans are Here

Chicago Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren spoke last Friday about the team's new stadium plans, confirming that it will be built in Arlington Heights.

Until now, the location had mostly been the subject of rumors and speculation. Warren, however, provided fans with a definitive answer.

"We are still extremely focused on Arlington Heights, on building our stadium there," Warren said.

The Bears have been holding weekly meetings with Arlington Heights leadership to keep the project moving forward. Warren hopes construction can begin later this year. The plans are to build on an old race track in the area.

"The goal would be to be in position to move dirt this year...break ground next year officially, but move dirt this year, and be ready to play in our new stadium," Warren said.

The team believes Arlington Heights is the ideal location, as plans include a fixed-roof stadium and numerous new restaurants.

For those concerned about taxpayer dollars funding the project, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has made it clear that no state money will go directly toward building the stadium. However, according to ABC7, he is open to helping fund infrastructure around the site, such as restaurants, hotels, and other developments.

The Bears currently have a lease at Soldier Field through 2033, but could break it as early as 2026 if they pay a large fee.
