We’re seeing constant footage and news of the devastating wildfires happening in LA. You may even know someone who was affected – you may even have been affected firsthand.

You may want to help but feel helpless. There are a lot of ways you can help those who have been affected by the fire, even if you live nowhere near LA. Here are some of the ways you can instantly help.

  1. Donate to different organizations. The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation is just one of many organizations that are in need of donations to help with things like tools, equipment and resources to fight the fire.
  2. The platform has a dedicated hub with all pages related to the wildfires that have been verified listed. You may even consider starting one for someone you know that was affected by the devastation.
  3. The baby nonprofit is in need of baby items like formula, food, diapers and hygiene products to those who have lost their homes and belongings.
  4. They’re offering free temporary housing to those displaced by the wildfires. If you have an Airbnb in the area, you can sign up on the website to open your doors and be part of this.
  5. The Sidewalk Project. This organization is working to offer shelter to those who have been unhoused amid the fires. If you live locally you can drop off supplies, otherwise they are also accepting donations online.
