Palm Beach County's top cop is now in his record sixth term.
Sheriff Ric Bradshaw at yesterday's swearing-in ceremony told CBS 12 News that he has a number of goals for the next four years.
"We're still the lead agency for Homeland Security. We've got the president here. He's going to spend a lot of time here. We've got to make sure that nothing happens to him. We've got a lot of technology we're going to put in place. When we do that, we'll probably be the most technologically advanced sheriff's office in the nation."
During his speed to a crowd at a park in Royal Palm Beach, the sheriff talked more about the fact that his agency will be responsible for helping the Secret Service look after Trump, whose Mar-a-Lago estate sits within county limits.
"You know I heard the other day that he's thinking about running everything from here and maybe just going to Washington once in a while. You can't blame him. I wouldn't want to go up there either."
Bradshaw is the longest serving sheriff in county history at 20 years as he starts his sixth term.
