The Washington Commanders (13-5) defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-8) 23-20 in the Wild Card round of the playoffs on Sunday night to end the Buccaneers season.
It was a close game throughout, tied 10-10 at halftime and 20-20 late in the fourth quarter. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels made a huge first down run to set up Zane Gonzales kicking a walk-off 37-yard field goal as time expired.
Baker Mayfield went 15-of-18 with 185 yards passing, two touchdowns and a huge lost fumble. Bucky Irving set a franchise record in a playoff game with 77 yards rushing, and added a touchdown reception, the first of his career. Mike Evans led all receivers with seven catches for 92 yards and a touchdown.
The Buccaneers season comes to an end, while the Commanders will face the #1 seed Detroit Lions in the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs.
