Rita's Homemade Cough Syrup

Homemade honey lemon cough syrup with raw honey

Roll a washed lemon around (organic preferred) on counter, putting pressure on it with your hand to help release the juices and break down cell structure. Cut in chunks and pour raw honey over to cover. Smoosh all down with a spoon. Let sit in frig a couple of days before using. Store in frig. Take a teaspoonful as needed, several times a day if necessary. You can also add slivers of ginger for its anti-inflammatory qualities, as well.

Raw honey has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. It promotes body and digestive health, is a powerful antioxidant, strengthens the immune system, eliminates allergies, and is an excellent remedy for skin wounds and all types of infections. Raw honey can also stabilize blood pressure, balance sugar levels, relieve pain, calm nerves, and it has been used to treat ulcers. Raw honey is also an expectorant and anti-inflammator
